Ms. Darress works with instructors from pre-kindergarten to grade 5, including Enrichment Cluster teachers and our team of service providers. She also oversees the Dual Language Spanish-English Immersion (DL) and English as a New Language (ENL) programs, and coordinates our building response team for schoolwide safety.

Ms. Salu joined PS9 in February 2023. Her teaching experience began in District 13 as a general education student, where her teaching experience extended to the fields of Earth Science and Special Education. Highly valued, she was hired by the school as a full time Grade 2 teacher. Throughout her teaching career she has been immersed in Dual Language, Magnet and STEAM programs. One of her core values is collaboration, and she takes great pride in the mentorships she has received and the mentorship she has provided. In alignment with Principal Williams-Credle's vision, one of her many goals at PS 9 is to support making learning accessible and engaging across content areas, while also providing an optimal and equitable education for all PS 9 staff and students.
IB Coordinator and Instructional Coach

As the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Program Coordinator, Ms. Miranda works to keep our school on track and on time towards accreditation as an IB school. As Instructional Coach, she holds weekly trainings to support faculty in their professional development (PD) and implementation of the school curriculum. She also coordinates the periodic school, city and state assessments and testing of students (such as state English Language Arts (ELA) and mathematics tests, MAP, Acadience).

A member of our school community for over twenty years, our Parent Coordinator Ms. Derrell-Jacob creates opportunities for family and caregiver engagement with the school. She connects with the caregiver community to answer questions, or - in the rare case she doesn't have the answer herself - acts as a guide to people who can help. Ms. Derrell-Jacob also supports the work of the Class Leads, with assistance from the PTO Parent-Teacher Liaisons.
Secretary for Pupil Accounting and Transportation Coordinator

As Secretary for Pupil Accounting, Ms. Sheldrake oversees student registration, classroom placements and attendance. As Transportation Coordinator, Ms. Sheldrake can assist with questions related to new or existing student transportation services. During the years her children attended PS9 Ms. Sheldrake served in many roles - including as President of the Parent Teacher Organization.
Community Assistant

Parent to a current student and a graduate, Ms. Bolotin recently joined the PS9 staff as a Community Assistant. She programs and coordinates our school day enrichment residencies and manages our after school partnerships.
