On-Site Providers
On-site providers run full-week, full-time, after school programs that take place at PS9. For the 2023 to 2024 school year, we are so glad to continue partnering with NYJTL, TEiAM, Mindful Sports and Kids Orbit. And we are very happy to welcome back World Explorers (formerly Backpacks and Binoculars) to our daily after school offerings.
All after school providers start on Monday, September 18. Please ensure that you have arrangements in place to pick up your child by 2:40pm for the first week of school.
Registration for after school takes place directly through each provider. Questions about pricing, scholarships, programming, and scheduling should be directed to the individual providers.
If you do register for an after school program, you can join the corresponding social group on Konstella to connect with other families in the program.
TEiAM
Open to: Kindergarten to Grade 5
Hours: Monday to Friday, 2:40 pm - 6:00pm

There is no “i” in TEAM, but it is placed there to represent the organization's "innovative" side. TEiAM was founded in 2019 with the mission to fill the need of STEAM programming in schools and provide a well rounded after school. They make time every day for physical activity and games, homework, snack and science experimentation/exploration for K-5th graders. Email PS9BKTeiam@gmail.com with questions.

Explorers
Open to: Pre-K to K only
Hours: Monday to Friday, 2:40 - 6:00 pm
Start Date: September 18, 2023
The Explorers Afterschool Adventures program allows explorers to dive into different cultures through science/engineering, storytelling, cooking, art and physical activity. Our aim is to instill the love of exploration, adventure, and learning. In addition to our daily enrichment programs, we provide homework help, snacks, and service learning opportunities. Kids Orbit
Open to: Pre-K to 5th grade
Hours: Monday to Friday, 2:40 - 6:00 pm

Staffed by warm, caring, experienced individuals who create a positive, safe environment, Kids Orbit offers flexible daily, weekly and annual enrollment options for Pre-K - 5th grades at PS9. The program includes a light snack, homework supervision, and daily activities such as Arts & Crafts, Sports, Drama and Martial Arts. Learn more and register today.

NYJTL's theme this year is 'Together Towards Tomorrow' and their scholars will embark on a transformative journey where cultivated experiences lay the groundwork for bright and fulfilling futures. With activities centered around three key frameworks: Social-Emotional Learning, Relationship Building, and Community Engagement, participants will foster a harmonious balance between self-awareness, peer interactions, and the profound impact one individual can make on the world. In an environment where play knows no bounds and families and schools unite, scholars are challenged to unleash their imagination, fearlessly explore uncharted territories, and gain the essential skills to become tomorrow's leaders - both on and off the court!
NYJTL is a free, DYCD, city-run program. Enrollment is a lottery and opens in late August. This ensures a fair and equal chance for all families to enroll in the program. Any applications not selected in the lottery will be placed on a waiting list, and families will be contacted as soon as an opening becomes available. Stay tuned for NYJTL application updates.
